In Avoriaz the choice is simpler than it looks. For winter 2026/27 the lift company sells an Avoriaz only pass for just 5 hours, 1 day or 2 days. For a week’s skiing, the Portes du Soleil pass is the only multi day option, so the real decisions are when and how to buy it, and whether beginners should start on a cheaper beginner pass.
The short answer
- A week in Avoriaz: buy a Portes du Soleil pass. There is no week long Avoriaz only pass in 2026/27.
- Buy online: six days for an adult was €352 online against €373 at the ticket office in peak season.
- Complete beginners: consider a 2 day beginner pass, then a 4 day Portes du Soleil pass.
- Children under 5 ski free, but the pass must be collected from a ticket office with proof of age.

What a family of four pays
For two adults and two children aged 5 to 15, six day Portes du Soleil passes in peak season (for example February half term) come to €1,232 online or €1,306 at the ticket office, plus €3 for each hands free card. That is our own sum from the official prices.
Complete beginners: start on the beginner pass
Avoriaz sells a beginner pass that covers the nursery and gentler lifts, including Proclou next to Amara: €33 for 5 hours, €39 for a day or €69 for two days in 2026/27. A first timer could buy two beginner days and then a four day Portes du Soleil pass, which costs €246 online for an adult or €185 for a child.
| First timer | 2 beginner days + 4 day Portes du Soleil (online) | 6 day Portes du Soleil (online) |
|---|---|---|
| Adult | €315 | €352 |
| Child | €254 | €264 |
The saving is modest, so it only makes sense if the beginner days really will be spent on the nursery slopes. Book ski school first and fit the pass around the lessons. See our ski hire and lessons guide.
